This section describes a vision of how the new mathematics could be applied to construct technology that could automate economic interactions between people and thereby disintermediate exchange and collective decision making. The technology could eliminate the need for imaginary stores of value, presently required as a means of exchange and vehicle for the collection of taxes, and potentially at least some of the representative functions of lawmakers. The benefits could include more balanced trade between people and between nation states, better decision making, better dispute resolution and a more equitable treatment of individuals.
